Fruit Bowl

I created this fruit bowl task by using photoshop. The main influence for the colour scheme used in this fruit bowl was the skin tone concept. I selected an image from Google Images, related to the idea of skin tone. From there, I inserted a the image in the corner of my fruit bowl then I used a tool in photoshop where it allowed me to pick a colour from any image. So I picked a variety of colours for my fruit bowl from the image I got from Google Images. After I filled in my fruit bowl with colour with the paint bucket tool which allows me to fill in a shape of an image with colour that gets picked.

Summer Research Project: Inception (2010)

 Inception

1) Inception is a sci fi film that was released in 2010. The sub genres that revolve around Inception the most is a dystopian setting and time travel.
this is evident from their reactions when the setting changes (dystopia). They mainly have negative reactions to the change, predominantly anger and confusion. Time travel to the moving setting as the setting is slightly moving around them.

Box office$825.5 million[3]

3) I would say when it comes to audience; Inception is very diverse and mix. I would give it 60% male and 40% female. This is because the cast is mainly male dominated but there are a few females in the cast and one being one of the main protagonists. Inception is definitely not for a young audience as the themes are very complex and confusing. Although, the official age rating is a 12 I would give the movie an age rating between 15- 45 due to its dark and complex themes. This movie would be best suited with open minded people rather than people with narrow mindsets.

This is a HSBC advert I created with CS6 Photoshop. I got my images from google images and copied them onto photoshop to then later edited them. I resized them to an appropriate size so they can fit into the box provided. I then later added text to my images with my word. The word I used was "victory". In this advert, I tried to be as diverse as I can with my images; I used different images from different sources and with different content. I selected the first picture (Rocky 1976) because I believe this highlights victory in a sense of resiliency, the message being along the lines of "hard work pays off". My second image displays a cancer survivor hugging someone else; I selected this because I think it also shows resiliency. Unlike the first image, it shows victory over something you didn't start. The third image is an image of a fictional character named Leonidas from the 2006 film 300. Throughout the two hour film, Leonidas is depicted as a vigorous and victorious character who pursues for success and victory. I personally, thought it would be a great idea to add him to my advert because his description and persona totally fits the idea of "victory". It is almost like he is the epitome of victory.

Blade Runner (1982)

Genre
This acclaimed cult classic was released in 1982. It's a sci-fi film. Blade Runner falls into many sub-genres; these sub-genres range from utopia/dystopian them, robots/cyborgs and also has a tiny blend of experimental science.

Key conventions
Blade Runner contains lots of key conventions that make it a sci-fi. For example, it contains key conventions such as futuristic props (cars, ships...), robots and cyborgs. This gives it a major sci-fi feel to it as it is "futuristic".

Audience
I believe that this film is quite equal when it comes to male and female audiences. This is because it has a variety and balanced cast of male and female actors and actresses. I would say 60% male and 40% female. I think this movie is targeted at late teenagers and adults. This is because the atmosphere of this movie is dark, gritty and gloomy giving it a more serious tone and style.

Donnie Darko (2001)

Genre
This mysterious cult classic was released in 2001. It is a sci-fi film with experimental science, aliens, dystopia being its sub genres. This film is a hybrid as its other genres are mystery and drama.

Key conventions
This film, Donnie Darko, has lots key conventions that give us the idea that this film is a sci-fi. One of Donnie Darko's main convention is time travel as it is a significant theme in the film. Donnie Darko contains other key conventions such as different life forms, this is evident from one of the main characters alongside with Donnie himself. This other life form is a extraterrestrial rabbit known as "Frank". This character is mysterious and enigmatic.

Audience
I think that this film is equitably balanced in the terms of gender audience. I would say 60% male and 40%. This film is mainly targeted at young teens and adults as it contains strong language.

Matrix (1999)

Genre
This commercial success was made in 1999. Matrix is a hybrid. Matrix is a sci-fi and an action film.
Matrix's sub genres are experimental science, dystopian setting etc.

Key conventions

Matrix contains key conventions such as futuristic machinery. The colours and audio in this movie play a massive part in making it a sci-fi film. This film has more key conventions.

2. I am looking forward to the music video the most,

3. The skill I am hoping to learn the most is how to use Photoshop and how to use a DLR camera properly. Editing is another skill I would want to learn in detail.

4. Personally, I think I am able to achieve an A*/A. I would also be satisfied with a B+

5. The last film I have watched was Reservoir Dogs (1992) directed by Quentin Tarintino

6. I think that film appealed to the audience due to its gruesome content and also because of the originality of the storyline.

7. In the last 24 hours, I have used a mobile phone, mac and a TV

8. The device I use most to access media is my mobile phone as I have access to loads of social networks such as twitter, instagram, facebook and hotmail.

9. Jurassic World can fit into many genres such as sci-fi, adventure and also action. This is because it contains a bundle of all these genres.

10. Jurassic World appeals to a family audience because it is one of the sequels of the classic Jurassic Park (1993) meaning it will be suitable for all members of the family. The opening shot also hints that this is a film made for families this is because in the opening shot it displays a family. Another reason why this film is suitable for family audiences is because it is rated a 12A, predominantly a classic family age rating.
